MY STYLE Diaries, How to Wear and Style Kaftans and Boubou

Who says you can’t be Classy, Casual, Glam, Trendy, or Sophisticated in a Kaftan or BOUBOU? I’m a huge fan of Boubous and Kaftans, little wonder some refer to me as the “Queen of Kaftans”.
BouBou is a long, loose-fitting brightly coloured garment worn by both sexes in parts of Africa including Nigeria, Senegal, Gambia, Ghana etc.
I’ve shared below some Tips and ideas on how to Wear or Style them.
Not so many are aware that I actually Sew but I do and enjoy making my Signature Boubous.
My Signature is to Revamp the traditional Boubous into Trendy, Chic and Sexy outfits.

All Featured outfits in this post were sewn by me. They are available for Make to order with over 50 fabrics to choose from.
These are among a small Capsule collection that I showcased during summer at the AFRICA UTOPIA, SouthBank, London.
I grew up watching andt admiring my late Stylish Mum adorn her Kaftans and Boubous every other day, it was literally her Signature style.
Hence it didn’t come as a shock to many who knew me when I also embraced and fell in love with Boubous and Kaftans during my late Teens. I must own over a hundred pieces at the moment.
Tip One:

Use Chiffon Fabric for your Kaftans and Boubous to achieve a Chic Look.

I decided to Style this three quarter length with a matching Pant and high heels.
Tip Two:

Use Lace Fabrics In making your Kaftans or Boubous to achieve a Glam look.

This Look is perfect for Red Carpets, Dinner, Weddings etc.
Tip Three:

Go Bold with Colours using Wax Prints popularly known as “Ankara” in Nigeria.
Tip Four:

Revamp your BOUBOU like I have done here. It doesn’t always have to be long and flowing.

This Look is perfect for Day or Night Outs.
In 2012, when I launched my Fashion brand DIDI CREATIONS, my first Clothing collection for the Runway was my REVAMPED Kaftan/BOUBOU Collection. You can view all my collections on my YouTube channel. This has remained my Brand Signature till date including my most recent collection.

  2. Hi. I have checked your tinaugo.com and i see you’ve got some duplicate
content so probably it is the reason that you don’t rank
high in google. But you can fix this issue fast.
There is a tool that creates content like human, just search in google: miftolo’s tools

  3. I was wondering if you ever thought of changing the layout of your site? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or 2 images. Maybe you could space it out better?
