My joy knew no bounds as I finally got to experience the famous Norwegian Fjords.

You can imagine how fulfilled I was ticking it off my Bucket List.

A fjord cruise brings you into the fjords with high mountains and small picturesque villages lined up against the fjord. Small fishing villages seem to cling precariously to the rocky shore.

From gentle and mild to rough and wild – this is a land of contrasts. And all of it is authentic and natural, and easy to reach from Bergen!

I arrived Bergen and beheld one of the most beautiful scenery I had ever seen ; from our descent into the airport until I arrived the stunning Magic Hotel, which became my home for a few days.

I saw nature in its purest form, uncountable Waterfalls, Mountains etc. The Spectacular view and scenery I beheld during my NORWAY in a Nutshell tour cannot be explained here in detail, hence it’s best you experience it for you to understand.

Bergen is the Gateway to the Fjords of Norway!

The best starting point to experience the most magnificent fjord landscape, with narrow fjords, glaciers, steep mountain sides, beautiful islands and spectacular waterfalls. See which fjord tours are available during winter season.
From Bergen you can pick from several fjord tours in the Bergen-region, a journey to one of the world’s most popular tourist attractions Nærøyfjorden – inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List and voted the world’s most unspoiled tourist destination by National Geographic. Or what about a fjord tour to the Hardangerfjord, also known as the Queen of the Norwegian fjords?

The Gateway to the Fjords:

The fjords are by far the biggest attraction in Scandinavia, and Bergen is by far the best starting point for exploring the nature visitors come from all over the world to see. Bergen is situated halfway between the two biggest fjords in Western Norway – the Sognefjord and the Hardangerfjord and it also has a fantastic coastline with thousands of large and small islands.

From Bergen you can get to even the innermost reaches of the fjords and back again in one day. The fjord cruises are varying in length, and there are many organised fjord tours that guarantees a memorable experience.

All-year fjord tours:

The tour Norway in a Nutshell® is the most popular fjord tour in Norway and it is available from Bergen all year round. This tour takes about nine hours and passes through some of the most beautiful landscapes in Fjord Norway. The trip comprises a fjord tour, the Bergen Railway and Flåm Railway between the picturesque village of Flåm and Myrdal.
